Parliament

After 38 long years, George Clinton is bringing back the funk.

He’s gathered his famed funk group Parliament for an epic reunion, leading with their fresh new song “I’m Gon Make U Sick O’Me.”

Clinton and the band join forces with rapper Scarface for a downright fun and groovy tune.

Parliament’s “I’m Gon Make U Sick O’Me” is Over the Top in the Best Way

George Clinton is in fine theatrical form in Parliament’s new song, taking the role of Dr. Feel Good and pushing the boundaries.

The song’s all about making you sick and making you feel better with a special prescription: more funk.

“I’m gonna make you sick / I’m gonna make you sick of me / Then I’m gonna give you the antidote / Something to make you feel better,” Clinton repeatedly sings with an aged but still powerful voice.

If funk is what we need to feel better, then “I’m Gon Make U Sick O’Me” delivers the cure.

From the groovy bass to in-your-face brass sections to the perfect synth vibes, the song has that instantly infectious sound that brings you back for more.

“I’m Gon Make U Sick O’Me” is the leading single from Parliament’s upcoming album Medicaid Fraud Dog, out later this year.

“Because the last album was Funkadelic’s First Ya Gotta Shake the Gate. It’s Parliament’s turn,” Clinton wrote in a Reddit Q&A. “The new album is Medicaid Fraud Dog featuring the PFunk horns Fred Wesley, Pee Wee Ellis, Greg Thomas, and Benny Cowan. The next album will be P-Funk Allstars.”

Medicaid Fraud Dog is long-awaited to say the least. If “I’m Gon Make U Sick O’Me” is any indication, it’s sure to offer a whole lot of real true funk, something rare in the 21st century.

Decades after Parliament’s last release, George Clinton is still out there and is still funkier than ever.
