Catalpa NYC Music Fest – A New Music Festival For NYC To Rule Them All

Summer in NYC is great for so many reasons but my favorite of course is the music festivals.  It is getting hard to make it to them all but a new one is being introduced this year that just looks amazing and not many people have heard of it yet.  Let us introduce you to the Catalpa NYC Music Festival, a two day extravaganza being held on Randall’s Island July 28th and 29th.  The inaugural Catalpa Festival is striving to be a pioneering New York festival, unique in its programming, atmosphere and aesthetic. With as much an emphasis on site artistry, interactive experiences and experimentation as the musical entertainment itself, Catalpa is filling what we see as a gap for an event quite beyond the ordinary in New York City.

Of course the music is always the first key at these events.  Catalpa has brought it big with this lineup including The Black Keys, Snoop Dogg, TV On The Radio, Umphrey’s McGee, Cold War Kids, Girl Talk, Matt & Kim, Zola Jesus, Felix Da Housecat, Matisyahu and a ton of others across 2 main stages.  There is also a High Times sponsored Reggae stage and the ridiculous Arcadia Spectacular for the DJ sets. This is a mind-blowing spire that shoots giant 30 ft. flame balls from its peak and contains DJs playing from within. Surrounded by a high-powered sound system and an incredible lighting system, New York City will have never seen anything like this!

Tickets are still available for either day for $99 or a 2 day pass for $179.   There is even a VIP area with a limited number of raised private cabanas with their own private hot-tub!  Each of these cabanas will have private bottle service and great sight lines for a maximum of 10 people.  Wild!

Here is the schedule for both days:

The Indie Band Guru will be there to document it and we hope you will to.  Come find me and say hi.
