Dylan Lock – Singer/Songwriter With A Piano Could Be The Next Big Thing

We all know that singer/songwriters are a dime a dozen nowadays.  How many do you see everywhere you go with an acoustic guitar strapped to their back?  You have to set yourself apart just to get noticed.  What about using a different instrument?  It was once very popular for these solo musicians to use a piano instead of a guitar.  We have found an artist using piano and keyboard to create something very entertaining.  Let us introduce you to Dylan Lock.

The singer/songwriter from Ontario, Canada discovered a passion for music at a young age and was instinctively drawn to the sound of the piano.   Dylan claims gaining inspiration from the likes of Queen, Bob Seger and the Beatles.  His personal piano style is fun and playful and makes for some interesting songwriting.  His combination of blues rock with his own spin has earned him a great reputation locally and now he is ready to expose his sound to the masses.

Dylan Lock is currently recording his debut album and Indie Band Guru was able to get a sneak peek at some of the tracks.  ‘The Chase’ is a bouncy track that tells an interesting story.  When the other instruments are added towards the middle of the song it becomes a complete track capable of real traction in the mainstream radio world.  The slightly dark ‘This Girl’ features a relatively simple piano riff that lets Dylan really show off his vocal talents, even including a scat verse to show his diversity.  This is the gift of a star in the making.   Dylan proves he is able to tell a great story within his songs with ‘Killer & The Sin’.  If I had a vote this will be the lead songle of his upcoming album.  Dylan has already released an impressive video for the song as well.  Watch it here:
