Frank Viele Pleads Through ‘Time Is A Thief’

Once a musical passion takes hold it is up to the artist to transform it into songs. If dedication and talent combine with that passion, huge things can happen. Frank Viele seems to have all of these traits and has plenty of music coming. We had the chance to preview his newest EP Time Is A Thief.

The Connecticut based artist puts it all together for his music. Frank Viele is a talented singer, songwriter, guitarist, and live performer. His passion is obvious upon listening to one song. He puts all he has in each one. Over the past 7 years he has been building critical acclaim throughout the Northeast. In fact he has collected New England Music awards for Album of the Year, Male Performer of the Year, Songwriter of The Year, and Live Act of The Year. This has not slowed him down though and only seems to push him harder.

To keep the flow going Frank Viele is now releasing his new EP Time Is A Thief. The 4 track record was recorded between Stamford and West Haven, Connecticut, as well as Muscle Shoals, Alabama. As we open with the title track “Time Is A Thief” the unique Americana style grabs us right away. There is a smooth acoustic pop rock vibe that sits behind the always heartfelt vocals of Frank Viele. The feeling is there.

The sound expands on “The River” with the addition of strings and an enticing atmosphere to ease into the song. This one slows the tone down a little but the emotion turns up. On “Tears Drag You Down” a straight drum beat keeps the song going through the heartfelt vibe as a cello and a sweet guitar provide the backdrop to the story.

For the EP closer Frank Viele gives us the all out rocker “Love You Enough.” Big guitar sounds and a grooving bassline reminiscent of Sly Stone turn the energy up full force. The story here acts as a warning of chasing something that is not real. What is real is the volatility of this singer-songwriter.

Keep a look out for a new full length album coming next year as well on the Frank Viele WEBSITE.
