IBG Interview – 8 Questions With… Hollywood Video Game Kill-Bot

Creating music is a very personal thing. There are so many different styles and directions a song can go in. You need to create it for you without worrying about satisfying others. That is the music that will make you happy and that is all that really matters. Our recent find Hollywood Video Game Kill-Bot does just that. He has found his niche and people are starting to connect with it.

We had a chance to chat with the innovative musician to get a little deeper into his sound. Enjoy the interview here:

First off, tell us about the name Hollywood Video Game Kill-Bot?

It was a name that I made up with a friend awhile walking the street of Lennox, CA USA.

I just thought it sounded cool and different. So, it become my band name.

How would you describe the sound you create?

Just different and unique in it composition. Just using my influences of my music taste and turning it into a Frankenstein creation.

Which artists have had the biggest influence on you?

Skinny Puppy, David Bowie, Japan, Motley Crue, Ratt, Duran Duran, The Cure, Black Flag, and many more.

For the gearheads and tech-nerds out there, what tools are you using to make music?

Logic Pro X and Magix Music Maker 2014. Plus, I sometimes use my Dean Vendetta XM guitar. Also, Garageband too.

How does a song come together for HVGKB? What is the songwriting process?

Just write about my life situation and other people situation that i come in contact with.

What do you hope the listener will take away from a Hollywood Video Game Kill-Bot song?

Just to have a great time with my songs. Plus, show people different composition that they never really heard of before in music.

Give us some advice for other artists creating truly unique music?

Just try to be yourself in music. Which is sort of hard dealing with people that don’t understand you.

But, just say strong and time will be kind to you in the future.

What does 2020 hold for Hollywood Video Game Kill-Bot?

Making more new albums in 2020 that is my plan for this year.
