Impossible to Have “No Reply” to Latest NIGHTLY Single

Tucked away in the South far from the bustling coasts of New York or LA, Nashville holds its own against larger cities as a universally recognized hub of musical innovation and expression. Joining a community of fellow creatives helping Nashville live up to its reputation, alt-pop duo NIGHTLY is taking the rest of America by storm with their latest single “No Call, No Reply”.

After dropping out of college to pursue music, cousins Jonathan Capeci and Joey Beretta signed with Interscope Records in 2016 and debuted their first EP, Honest, shortly after. In addition to the instant success the EP garnered which racked up more than 6 million Spotify streams in the course of just over two years, NIGHTLY has also maintained a steady stream of live performances across the U.S. and abroad.

From Lost Love to Live Music

After paying their dues supporting and opening for artists such as The Struts, NF, The Night Game, and K. Flay under their belt, NIGHTLY embarked on their first headlining tour in April of 2017 and is currently back on the road with a new addition to the setlist. Released late February perhaps rather ironically after Valentine’s Day, “No Call, No Reply” is a wistful reflection upon the unanswered questions of a fading love.

The lilting lyrics are accompanied by a peppering of electronic flashes giving the tempo an uptick well worth dancing to. While phrases such as “you know this isn’t who you are” and “I can’t go on like this” emphasize the experience of loss, “No Call, No Reply” still manages to convey a sense of resigned acceptance and cautious optimism beyond the confusion.  This range in emotion and sound gives the song a unique versatility guaranteed to secure its place on both break-up and summer jam playlists alike.

Supported by fellow Nashville-based pop band PHANGS, NIGHTLY kicked off their current 25 show tour in Charlotte, NC on February 20th and will continue across the U.S. and Canada until a hometown closing on March 31st. As for those of us looking forward to a festival-filled summer, mark your calendar for the weekend of May 2-5 where NIGHTLY will be joining the SunFest lineup in West Palm Beach, FL alongside names such as OneRepublic, G-Eazy, Diplo, and Keith Urban.

With a history of sold-out shows in the past, don’t wait to get your tickets because I, for one, refuse to miss out on this musical memory! Looking into the rest of 2019, keep your eyes peeled and fingers crossed that we might see a music video for “No Call, No Reply” as well as more transfixing tunes. Guaranteed to grow in popularity with each passionate performance, we are sure that NIGHTLY will continue skyrocketing to success and can’t wait to say that “we knew them when…”.
