Check out Racoon Tour’s single “Dentonweaver” that shows off their music’s unique and quirky sound, all written on a ukulele and an iPad. Racoon Tour combines elements of various styles of music like indie, punk, emo, electronic, scramz, and pop. The band explores concepts of childhood, class consciousness, and religion. Racoon Tour’s music takes a self-aware, satirical, and at times cynical view on the existential topics they take influence from. Their single “Dentonweaver”, described as a “bootcamp for the whole album” runs the gambit of the energy and emotion, and is the namesake of their recently released album The Dentonweaver.

Racoon Tour is the brainchild of Nate Burr from Boise Idaho. The band has a unique aesthetic, warm and nostalgic while masterfully taking a cathartic energy from the genres they take influence from. Their new album was conceived during Burr’s high school years, and it reflects that adolescent angst while retaining a warm and nostalgic tone. Racoon Tour’s music represents the idiosyncratic and angsty style that Burr has developed.

The band’s new single “Dentonweaver” is a chaotic and epic track that represents all the ideas on their new album. Starting off with Burr’s signature ukulele, the song breaks into electric guitar and pounding drums. The ebb and flow of the rhythm takes the energy from bouncing off the walls to calm and composed. Racoon Tour shows off their ability to tell a story in this track, taking us on a journey through the ups and downs of this song. In the latter half of the song, the track softens up into chorus that builds up to an anthemic climax.

If you like Racoon Tour’s single “Dentonweaver” check out their other new single “Converse County”. The drum beat gives this song a slower vibe which allows Burr’s lyrics to develop the emotions in the song. With lyrics that are honest and introspective, this track delves into Racoon Tour’s more angsty side. The track cascades into a huge chanting chorus that brings the song together.
