Random Parts say ‘So Long’ to the old

Remote songwriting collaboration has really hit the mainstream over the past year due to the social distancing circumstances. More and more artists are getting together virtually to create music. All these newbies could take a lesson from our recent discovery Random Parts who have mastered the art.

The ‘band’ is a fully realized remotely recorded rock project from long time collaborators Jonathon Brannon and David Cagle. They have been working together from their Los Angeles and Birmingham locales since 2007 under the name Brannon. Those past songs were acoustic mellow jams. For the new Random Parts project, the duo turned to their rock roots bringing back a 90’s grunge sound full of distorted guitars and heavy drums. With Jonathan handling the songwriting and David adding his unique vocals, this new sound seems to be the pair hitting their stride. Random Parts is currently signed to Welton St. Records and a slew of music is on the horizon.

Lyric Video for ‘Song Long’ by Random Parts

The debut single “So Long” was just released on April 2nd to introduce Random Parts to both old and new listeners. The in your face intro grabs the listener’s attention right off the bat. The aggressive melody is paired with emotional vocals that share a motivating story of getting rid of the past and becoming a new you. An impressive guitar solo adds to the mix showing the talent that the duo has at the ready. The song could fit into a 90’s alt-rock playlist just as well as it fits into the alt-rock scene of today.
