The Hiding – Australian Pop Rock Band About To Be Found

With the CMJ Music Festival coming up in New York City next month many bands are now making their plans to travel to the music mecca.  We have attended CMJ for the last 3 years and can strongly recommend that every band that can make the trip do so.  The panels are very informative and the networking opportunities are endless.  Oh, and there are about 1500 bands performing at over 80 venues throughout the city over the 5 day experience.  Live music nirvana.  Bands come from everywhere including our latest find, The Hiding.

The Hiding is from just about as far away as you can be from NYC, hailing from Melbourne, Australia.  Traveling that kind of distance to be part of CMJ is a testament to how hard these guys are willing to work for their music.  The Hiding is Anthony Salce, Ryan Di Cecco, Adrian Perri and Joe Torre who formed out of a previous band in the summer of 2010. This previous project saw them tour all over Australia, supporting some of the country’s most respected acts.  This helped them build up their chops and now has The Hiding poised for stardom.

The band has just released a 2 song EP in conjunction with their CMJ Festival trip.  The first song is ‘Lantern Lights’, an introspective song that build to a full sonic soundscape reminiscent of other international bands such as The Fray or Keane.  The tender usage of their instruments makes for a warm and comforting track.  The flipside of the record is the song ‘Hopeless Heart’.  It is another anthem-type song about heartache that can be related to by most people that listen to it.  The music does lift the listener to a cheerful mood before the end of the track though and leaves them wanting more.  The music is ready for mainstream radio and as soon as the Hiding gets their music out there it is sure to gain them legions of fans.

Go find them before everyone else at:
