Wingtip Carves EMD Sound with ‘Space For Us’

Pop music has had a few common themes in 2017. Though out the year the Billboard Top 40 was filled with tracks layered with synths and drops that would make The Chainsmokers proud. Wingtip is developing that sound in “Space for Us” featuring Youngr.

Wingtip is Carving His Own Sound with “Space For Us” that Will Give The Chainsmokers, Zedd, and Martin Garrix a Run for Their Money

The rising electronic music sensation Nicholas Perloff-Giles (aka Wingtip) admits that the track is the first he’s written on his own since “Rewind.” That track has a similar sound and feel to it, an indication that Wingtip’s sound is starting to find its own.

In stepping back from the world of co-writing, Wingtip could explore his own perspective and expression. He even gave Youngr the space to take his words and track and bring it so much life in the vocals. “I heard this song,” Youngr said, “and instantly fell in love with the groove and the emotion in it all. And of course, the bass slapping. Anything with bass slapping, I’m in.”

Instantly at the start of the track, you’re pulled in with major synth chords. The synth almost enters your mind and drags you along the entire track, not letting you lose that space they’re in. Layered with a thumping bassline that transports you back to that summer feeling, you can’t help but listen along happily.

Besides adding in his killer vocals, Youngr added a few guitar licks and live drums that sent the track over the edge on his first official feature. Those added-in layers give the track the depth and maturity that listeners crave.
