Zanilonia Hits ‘Close to the Bone’

Spread the knowledge

Our friends from virtual band Zanilonia return and show up strong with “Close to the Bone,” a brand new Goth/Electronic Pop single and video just in time for Halloween.

Zanilonia has existed as a virtual outfit for an actual decade and was launched by keyboardist, vocalist, TV composer, and songwriter David Zee as a vehicle for Zee’s fiercely independent music making. No marketing firms or focus groups are involved in his creative process and that’s just the way he likes it. At various times, the group has featured the likes of drummer/percussionist Jim Brink, singer Cara Detwiler, singer/songwriter Kathleen Pemble, percussionist/electric violinist Derrik Jordan, well-known Australian singer Tara-Lynn Sharrock, and singer/songwriter/producer/DJ Rosebud.

Music Video for ‘Close To The Bone’

The song and accompanying music video are gaining traction with online fans and for good reason. “Close to the Bone” is a catchy and hypnotic dance track built around chill lead vocals, an insistent beat, and a memorable keyboard hook. The skeleton-filled music video that pairs with the song is spooky, seasonal, and most entertaining.

The video for “Close to the Bone” is a ton of fun. It centers on Zee, Leanna Chamish, and Les Bradley but also features a crew of dancing skeletons, both physical and digital, that will make you smile. The clip also incorporates snippets of vintage horror films like The Screaming Skull and Nightmare Castle. How cool is that?

In any case, “Close to the Bone” belongs on your Fall 2025 daily playlist. Its smoothness will sneak up on you and become a permanent earworm after a single spin. Zanilonia just keeps putting fun and entertaining music out there. It is absolutely worth investigating and you should do exactly that. Find more HERE.
