Time may pass and circumstances will happen but once the love of creating music is inside of you it will always be there and raise its head when given the opportunity. Life gets in the way for many artists but fate opens up the time when it finds talent. An uplifting story is the recent one I heard about Cameen.
The R&B crooner was born in Brooklyn, NY and had a large interest in music from an early age following his cousin William Allen’s career as a jazz session bass player. When he hit his teens Cameen was focused on sports and his drive would lead him to be a star in New Hampshire both on the soccer pitch and the basketball court. This is a man that sets his mind to something and works until he achieves his goal. After a brief stint at St. John’s University that was cut short by a gun shot wound Cameen returned to New Hampshire to Rivier University. While there his music passion grew and he received a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Sociology. The business side of music intrigued him and he ventured into recording to test his newfound knowledge. The music has been pouring out ever since.
The latest release by this prolific artist and his CKC Entertainment Group is the single “Good To You”. The vocals pop out at you right from the start with a smooth soulful feel as the lyrics explain that he did no wrong to his lady. The stuttering beat is infectious and will get your head bopping before you even know it is happening. It is relatively minimalistic but there is something about it that makes it extremely catchy. You will be humming this one way after the track is over.
