Delphi Ravens Are An Open Book on ‘Keeper of Secrets’

It isn’t always easy, but the best way to write quality songs is to put your real life experiences into your music. Having this openness to share the tough realities will allow the listener to connect on an emotional level. This is how true fans are built. Our friends Delphi Ravens have made a habit of this and take it to the next level with their new album Keeper Of Secrets.

The indie alt rock band founded in 2019 hails from the music hot spot of the Pacific Northwest. With their freedom to write the types of songs that they want, Delphi Ravens chart their own course without any genre restrictions. Making music for themselves first and letting fans of good raw songwriting find the songs.

The new album Keeper of Secrets opens with a force on “Between The Lines.” Aggressive drums and guitar push the pace while the vocal delivery of Kira adds a slick touch. The listener will find their heart beating a little faster and ready for a full rock ride.

Delphi Ravens show that they can switch gears with “Bittersweet” and its rock ballad style. The warm piano open settles us down but diving into the heartfelt lyrics will bring the emotions to a head. On “How Wrong You Were” the raw rock energy returns but the emotions are still as strong as ever. Other tracks such as “Last Memories” and “Hardest Goodbye continue the trend. Songs that demand multiple listens to take it all in.

Feel The ‘Phobia’ With Delphi Ravens

We get some classic rock vibes from “Phobia” with its big pounding drums punctuated by a raw distorted guitar to add that crunch synonymous with the Pacific Northwest. Soaring vocals mixed with a repeating ‘phobia’ give it that back and forth to keep the listener fully engaged. Some of my favorite guitar work of the album is featured here as well.

Lead songwriter Papa B puts some punch into a cause he feels strongly about, animal cruelty in the song “Justify”. Some people can just be heartless and Delphi Ravens are going to call them out on it. Power is in the music and the message.

The album closes with “Take My Hand” which has won a bunch of songwriting awards to date. The big chorus guitar tone from the start fills the speakers with an elegant feel to set your mind at ease. Absorbing the lyrics and the emotion delivered opens up our hearts as well. The big rock sound comes in mid song to remind us that we are in the Delphi Ravens world. They can take us wherever they choose. We will just sit back and enjoy the journey.
