We had the chance to chat with the up and coming country rock star to get a little deeper into his rise. Enjoy the interview here:

First off, what drives you to create music?

I would have to say the single most influential factor that drives me to create music would have to be the tragic loss of my brother…

How would you describe the Michael Raven sound?

I would describe the Michael Raven sound as a modern fusion of southern rock and country.

Modern country rock has exploded with some of your inspirations Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, and Morgan Wallen. Which of their songs do you secretly wish you had written, and why?

It would be hard to pick…what I love about Combs and Jelly is the aggressive nature and driving energy in their songs. Morgan on the other hand it’s all about his melodies…gotta love those melodies!

Speaking of songwriting, what is your process? How does a song come together for Michael Raven?

I have a few different approaches to writing. The first is trying to vocalize a melody over a chord progression.

The second is just trying to vocalize a melody a cappella and not being restrained by a chord progression.

The two ways have served me well.

The lines between country, rock, pop, even rap are blurring more than ever—and you’re right in that sweet spot. What excites you most about where country rock is headed in 2026 and beyond?

I feel that country has been a melting pot for all genres of music it seems to draw in every musical taste. The exciting thing is listening to all the different fusions and the amazing songs that come to life because of it!

What are some of your biggest highlights currently for your music?

The biggest highlight for me is getting radio play. Hearing your own song on the radio is pretty surreal!

Can you share the story behind your latest single “Since God Knows When”?

That is about losing someone you love and questioning the idea will we ever see that special someone again in this life or the after life. For me personally it’s about the tragic loss of my brother, but it’s written in a way that it can have personal meaning for any listener.

What do you hope the listener takes away from your music?

I hope that they have a positive feeling while listening and I hope the message brings them help if it’s a song they can identify with.

Can you tell us what we can expect from you moving into 2026?

2025 was an amazing year of releasing multiple music videos and getting radio play for a couple of singles.

2026 I’ll will be heading back into the studio with Nashville’s very own Producer Stacy Hogan at A Writers Paradise Studios. We will be working on a full-length album with hopes of being release late 2026 or early 2027!

Seems like the future is very bright. Keep up with Michael Raven on his website HERE.
