Hot-handed Australian guitar slinger and vocalist Christina Crofts checks back in with her faithful fans with The Best of Bottleneck

The record, which dropped August 1, 2025 on Foghorn Records, is a compilation of previously released fan favorites that all showcase Crofts’ mighty slide guitar work and emotive vocals. She is a veteran performer on the Australian music scene and has built a solid following and reputation for great songs, roof-raising live shows, and high-level guitar and vocal skills.

Christina Crofts has four releases to her credit and the last two made the Top 10 of the Australian Blues & Roots Charts. She’s turned in impressive sets at crucial festivals including the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee (USA), Thredbo Blues Festival, Narooma Blues Festival, Mitchell Creek Rock ‘n Blues Festival, Bimbadgen Festival, Australian Blues Festival, Great Southern Blues & Roots Festival, Sydney Blues & Roots Festival, and countless others. She’s one of Australia’s most promising emerging talents and has her sights set on rocking the rest of the world.

The tracks collected for The Best of Bottleneck go hard from the jump and Christina Crofts shows she knows how to make temperatures rise. She’s an absolutely wailing slide player with an aggressive nature and a gift for perfect phrasing. Her sound is heavyweight blues/rock that will thump you right in the chest.

The Guitar Power of Christina Crofts on ‘Voodoo Queen’

The set kicks off with the raucous shuffle “Voodoo Queen.” Crofts takes flight quickly on guitar, setting the tone for the rest of the album with licks that are gritty and lyrical. There is no hiding the in-your-face energy. “Lookin’ Back on You” features a strutting pocket and a vocal kiss-off to a former close acquaintance. Her slide work here is tight and tuneful, driving the cut to its limit. The vocals hit hard as well.

Other highlights on The Best of Bottleneck include “Stone Cold Tomb,” “Lucy,” and the closer “Escape to Blue” with its slide guitar showcase. Throughout the record, Christina Crofts proves she is a top-tier artist and a fine slide guitarist who brings a ton of her own style to everything she plays. Savvy guitar fans the world over are going to flip over this one once it hits their ears. Highly recommended for lovers of Rock & Blues.
