Crow Follow Pay Psychedelic Homage With ‘Sylvia Sez (For Justine)’

Crow Follow

There is always something special about finding a band that makes music just the way they like it. No catering to the mainstream looking for pop success. This will always let the beauty and passion of a song shine through. Our recent discovery Crow Follow stays on their own path with newest single “Sylvia Sez (For Justine).”

The Boston, Massachusetts based band combines sounds from the post punk and art rock scenes. Add in some adult contemporary influences and big saxophone sounds and you have Crow Follow. Their music has a way of adding a shiny brightness to their somewhat dark minor key songwriting style. Unique and all their own.

Released last month “Sylvia Sez (For Justine)” is a full sonic journey inspired by the spirit of Justine Covault. The founder of Red on Red Records and the WhistleStop Rock Festival who empowered women in music to always follow their dreams, on their own terms. Crow Follow lives this independent spirit to their bones.

The 7 and a half minute song is a full experience with saxophone leading the way to grab attention right from the start. Tim Sprague and Agent Judy swap their vocals with each verse. Each provides a unique touch that adds layers to the song. Big guitars come in to shock the system and provide a spark in the dark tune.

Gritty and raw yet filled with sound from all over the spectrum. With each passing minute a new noise seems to leak into the mix. This psychedelic style allows each listen to be a distinctive experience. Something different to follow each time through.

Crow Follow puts it out there that we all seek our own identity but will ultimately find a community of like minds if we are open to all. Dive in and find your space and find more music by the band HERE.
