An artist much be a tremendously strong person to do it on their own. Having the support of family and friends can be a huge boost to any rising talent but when that is lacking the drive of the artist has to be even bigger to get where they want to be. Once locked in to the goal there can be no distractions. Our recent find Kendra Black has all kinds of talent and the passion and drive to match.
The New York City based artist also known as Maria G. D’Amico left home at the age of 12 to pursue her dreams and has been on her own ever since. This seemed to add to her resolve for success as she dove into all aspects of art. Kendra Black got her start in dance and graduated from The Kirov Academy Of Ballet of Washington, DC. In January 2013 she decided to focus more on her singing and began training and performing with teachers from the Music Conservatory of Cannes (France), and from The Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan. She later joined Voice Academy NYC where she worked with Justin Stoney. Spreading her wings and stage presence she performed in such places as France, Monte-Carlo, Italy, Egypt, the U.S. and the Caribbean.
Last week kendra Black took the next step and released her single “Tonight (feat Ty Alaxandar and Cody Verbage)”. It is a sultry R&B track with elements of dance music entwined in the beat. The energy and hard work transfers right into the sound. The production is top notch as well. Take a listen here:
