Love For The Holidays – by former RCA recording artist, Kristy Love Brooks, is a spiritually uplifting and musically healing album with six traditional Christmas songs, and six songs she wrote herself for a tremendous combo of holiday pleasers. During her career on the Broadway stage, she starred as the leading female role in the “Jimi Hendrix Story”.”
She also produced and starred in her own TV show “Kristy’s Positive Images” on Cable in New York and Las Vegas. She has been cast in several major motion pictures and currently travels internationally as a performer and motivational of the arts.
If you’re going to record a Holiday album you might as well go all out, and teaming up with multi-platinum producer Felton Pilate was an ultimately smart decision because the sound they deliver together is second to none with her already inclined in the area of production. The quality level is top notch, with no question about it.
The songs Kristy Love Brooks chose to cover are any Christmas carol-lovers dream, and her own songs are equally passionate and cerebral. “Joy To The World” opens the set and you’ll not hear a better recently recorded version, it’s fit for all ears.
The title track “Love For The Holidays” kicks in next, which is a song Brooks wrote that immediately puts you in the holiday spirit and you’re ready to hear an album full of the same. That’s how it felt being new to Brooks when I first heard it, even though it’s a holiday album which is something you don’t listen to every day. It put me onto her past work and that’s a huge bonus. I was mostly blown away by her rendition of the traditional staple; “Go Tell It On The Mountain” because it has-to-be the best version of it I’ve ever heard. It even had me looking for more versions and not finding a better one out there.
Getting hooked on a voice this way happens only so often, but hearing Kristy Love Brooks is worth waiting for. The soul and timbre of her voice are what attract you the most, and she can simply do no wrong, as you find out as the album continues to bring it track by track.

“Nature’s Lullaby” is probably the sleeper of the originals, with its beautiful angelic approach to everything about it. For me it rates up with the previous track, “Go Tell It On The Mountain,” so, it sits perfectly in the track arrangement, early on where the album begins to peak and keep you going for the duration.
“Just One Look” is another highlight, an original aimed at adult contemporary audiences that still keeps the Christmas factor cooking. This is another one not to be missed, as she pours the vocals on strong for one of the zenith moments in a grand Diva fashion. And there’s a lot more where that came from and an abundance of Christmas and new year vibes to be heard. “Silent Night” and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas / Auld Lang Syne” will warm any hearts, and last but not least, you want to kick off your shoes and dance to “All Over The World,” and it doesn’t end any better.
