LoadedRillo Takes Us Into His ‘Zelda Xanax’ World

LoadedRillo

With access to music from all genres all over the world now, an artist can now take pieces of many different styles to create their own unique one. Our recent find LoadedRillo has developed something that is all him and is ready to share it with the world.

The producer from Richmond, Virginia (RVA) has been experimenting with sound since 2009. Over the last couple of years, Loadedrillo threw himself all in and taught himself the skills needed to be a professional genre-blending music maker. His sounds drip of influence from hip-hop, emo-rock, and even some dubstep. Having some family members making music and a scene helped build his confidence. Now they all work together in the MDR (Making Dreams Reality) community.

The first official release by LoadedRillo is the imaginative “Zelda Xanax”. There is a wide variety of sound combined into one complete package. The droning under-beat with future sound added creates something that keeps the listener’s attention fixed. Throw in a sweet female vocal to add a layer of sultriness and the package is a complete journey into the LoadedRillo world.

We had a chance to chat with the interesting artist to get a little deeper into his story. Enjoy the interview here:

First off, tell us how the name LoadedRillo came to be?

I’ve gone through a few stage names, but it’s my first official one that sums me up as an individual. I’m laxed, I’m a sponge for knowledge, I like wholesome conversations… a rillo loaded with some good herbs is the much needed headshot to savor being an intelligent being at times.

How would you describe your sound?

My sound is different. I blend many influences from various genres. Hell, some of my projects scream hip hop, some lean more towards pop; then again, I have some projects that can’t truly be labeled as just one genre. I guess it’s relatively safe to say my sound is more like the camouflage of an octopus.

…yea, I said that. Lol.

Which artists have had the biggest influence on you?

The list is lengthy, yo. But for the sake of argument Timbaland, Diddy, Kanye, RZA, JustBlaze, Pharrell… Ima stop right there, just because they’re the most influential to me. I respect the craft, but the individuality of these producers are what spark me to push my own style. Every producer has a signature of some kind and by studying the production quality of these producers, I’m understanding what my sound actually is being that I’m self-taught with a slightly unorthodox ear for a tune.

What drove you to really dive deep into producing over the past few years?

…I got tired of hearing club bangers. Lmao! Don’t get me wrong, 808 Mafia *salutes* and Metro *waves* give me good body rock, but I need a break. Lol. But personally, my lil bro [cousin] Kendal (Kratos The TrackSlayer) formed a music group and invited me to be a producer on the roster for MDR (Making Dreams Reality). The more we bounce ideas off of each other the closer we get to reaching the next level. I want the fam to succeed with his dream, and if I can be of assistance by crafting some mixes, it shall be done.

How does a song come together for you? What is your songwriting process?

Songs come out of thin air for me, literally. I never envision a track and then create the same exact sound I hear in my head… NEVER. Lol. I typically scroll through my sample library and listen for that one sound I’m feeling at the moment and run with it from there. Sometimes that sample is apart of the final creation, sometimes it’s not.

What does the future hold for LoadedRillo?

I wouldn’t mind dropping an album by the end of the year, but I got a few singles I’ll be releasing from time to time. I’m manifesting increasing my network through the passion of creativity. I don’t do this for the stereotypical check, I do this because I love the energy emitted by folks when a rhythmic frequency speaks something to their souls… it’s a vibe.
