Every musician needs to find their own unique sound. Taking influence from a variety of sources and putting your real life into it will make the music all your own. We recently had the chance to sit down with rising Hip Hop star Reck Yosiah and get into his mind and hear about his future.
Originally from the Virgin Islands, Reck Yosiah spent much of his early life in Brooklyn before his mother finally settled the family in Arizona for a better life. Inspired by artists like the Notorious B.I.G. and Drake, Reck developed his own style of making music and is now working on an album, titled THE ONE.
First off, where did the name Reck Yosiah come from?
The name means “take heed of the finer things in life” it is also a play on words Yo-Siah, my first mixtape was named “king shit” so I took on that persona with my music and artist name

Biggie, Drake, J.cole, and Kendrick, for hip-hop and bryson tiller, trey songz, Dvsn and Tank for Rnb
We hear a new Reck Yosiah album is coming. Give us a sneak peek into THE ONE?
The one is basically telling my journey to find my Rider and all the ones that came close
What advice would you give to other artists creating original music?
Originality comes from within. The more unique the more original. Now work until you master your originality
What is next for Reck Yosiah?
After THE ONE I’m thinking of diving into some jazz so you can expect some jazz in the next projects.
