The blending of influences and genres will always be at the forefront of creating fresh new musical styles. And isn’t this what we all really want? Our recent discovery of The Tim Lancaster Conspiracy hits right on this mark with new single “Bang Bang, Bang Bang.”
The multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, and band leader has been primarily known for his drumming talent, but he is a lot more than that. With The Tim Lancaster Conspiracy he is all about breaking down genre barriers between rock, jazz, electronic music, and anything else that inspires him. He’s a boundary pusher and a prolific songwriter with over 100 songs already in his pocket.
The Tim Lancaster Conspiracy drops the needle on a groove mine with their new “Bang Bang, Bang Bang.”
“Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang” is a slow, grinding, electro-Zeppelin affair that blends the carnal spirit of rock music, gritty guitars, and heavy synths that interlock with great effect. Tim Lancaster’s vibe is unique and timeless, full of both two-fisted blues/rock and hard electronic sounds. This combination makes hearing “Bang Bang, Bang Bang” for the first time an experience and the song is a total attention-getter.
His vocal style is reminiscent of 80s icon Robert Palmer with a clear, strong tone that slices through the mix. Tim Lancaster is a great rock singer with a showman’s swagger who will quickly make you want to hear more. Like anyone making high-value rock music now, he occupies the past, present, and future all at once. It’s easy to hear his influences but it’s also easy to hear and understand that Lancaster is here to seduce modern-day listeners.
“Bang Bang, Bang Bang” is a fine introduction to The Tim Lancaster Conspiracy and will make listeners wonder what other strong stuff he has in his notebooks. He sounds like a million bucks here, and shows all signs of more strong sounds coming at us soon. Highly recommended.
