Even with the use of the internet sometimes music from the other side of the ocean has a hard time reaching our shores.  Some bands build up huge local followings and play giant shows but remain relatively unknown in other parts of the world.  This is normally enough to make a nice living and be recognized but any true star always wants more.  Our recent find Alogia is now starting to expand worldwide.

Alogia

The 5-piece band hails from Serbia.  Alogia plays a progressive metal style that provides a big arena ready sound.  The group formed back in 2000 and is made up of truly talented musicians Nikola Mijic – vocals, Srdjan Brankovic – guitars, Miroslav Brankovic – guitars, Vladimir Ranisavljevic – bass and Srdjan Golubica – drums.  They have played all over the Balkan through the years opening for such well-known acts as Whitesnake, Apocalyptica and Savatage.

Now Alogia is set for the worldwide release of their 4th studio album Elegia Balcanica planned for the new year.  The 9 track album is a soaring epic reaching new heights for the band.  The speed and technical skill of the band is showcased on “Callis Ad Astra”.  Amazing guitar work is partnered with progressive sounds to create a huge track.  The title track “Elegia Balcanica” features Mijic’s powerful vocals leading the way through an epic song.  The speed returns along with the power on “Vreme Je”.  There is something here for all fans of metal and great progressive guitar music.
