Music can take you on wild adventures around the world. When musical talent is nurtured from a young age it can open up many opportunities that will provide amazing experiences. Our recent find Owen Stevenson has lived an interesting life provided by his vocal talents.
The singer-songwriter based out of Chicago, Illinois found his calling at a very early age. Owen Stevenson was singing songs with his mother, a professional singer and actress herself, at the age of 3. The talent was recognized and he was soon performing with the Children’s Chorus of Washington, which provided the opportunity to sing at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and even an Italian tour. Owen continued to grow his musical education and went on to Indiana University’s prestigious Jacobs School of Music where he received a BS in Vocal Performance and Theatre. To highlight his singing skills he joined the well known Singing Hoosiers, America’s premier show choir; and the renowned a cappella group Straight No Chaser. He also hooked up with Celebrity Cruises to sail the seas with a new a cappella group called The Dockers.
The True Voice Of Owen Stevenson
Now Owen Stevenson has started a new path and released a full-length album titled Right Here And Now. The 12 track record shows much more than just a great voice. The opener “Come To You” shows off the energetic vibe that Owen has to offer along with impressive songwriting. The title track “Right Here And Now” has a little bit of a country pop tone with elegant piano fills and storytelling lyrics that open up the heart of the songwriter for everyone to see and hear. The song “Save Me” really jumped out to me for the sped up vocals and anthemic chorus with sultry harmonization. The bouncy delivery makes for quite a fun listen. The closer “Morning Sun” slows it up a little for a ballad style song showing true beauty. Everything combines quite well to make the listener feel all cozy and warm.
