Following on from her highly acclaimed 2014 sophomore album ‘Contra’, Swedish-native Cajsa Siik returns with her newest single, “White Noise,” from the upcoming album “Domino.”
Starting with a simple, almost lagging drumbeat and a ricocheting synth, the song already sounds as though it’s struggling to push itself forward. Siik’s whimsical vocals float above the music throughout the entire song.
“I fall to the left, to the right, to the front, to the other side,” she sings in the second chorus, before transitioning into a bridge filled with gentle and intricate harmonies beyond pleasing to the ears.
The outro of the song is what clinches the title of “well-executed pop song.” The driving drums, distorted guitar licks, and bouncing synths pull away, leaving only a clean guitar and her vocals. “Turn me into something,” she sighs, a cry for help sent into the void.
Cajsa Siik’s New Single “White Noise” Will Pull at Your Heartstrings
Speaking about the upcoming album, Siik says “ I wanted it to represent the fact that we’re all connected to each other and that we have a responsibility towards each other and this world. To shoulder that responsibility is easier said than done, but we must try.” If the rest of Domino is anything like White Noise, it is bound to be a hit amongst all fans of pop.
Siik will be showcasing her new album on June 1st at the infamous Old Blue Last in Shoreditch, London. You can find her music on her Soundcloud and follow her on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and her website.
