Everyone has their own internal struggles, big and small. We all face battles everyday that no one else may be aware of. It’s important to remember that those around you could be struggling with some serious problems and it matters how you treat them. Gary Dranow shows us a particularly tumultuous story of a man fighting back his dangerous opposing personality.
We follow Dranow through the day-to-day experience of a man with split personalities – Patrick, a charming businessman, husband, and father fighting against Brian’s violent cravings. The song describes the internal duality of mental illness, the “twisted ballet” of the two distinct “souls” that is unseen by those around him.
Premiere from the upcoming concept LP , Masked Facade
Gary Dranow’s single “Masked Façade” delivers a true bluesy rock guitar sound with vocals to match. It is a premiere from the concept album of the same name coming out this Friday. His voice has a distinct gravelly undertone to it but delivered professionally and smoothly to perfectly match the tone of the song. The vocals lean into the darker aspects of the track to draw in listeners to his lyricism.
The song exhibits clear and strong guitar skill that could almost distract the listener from the darker lyricism, exemplifying the darkness Patrick fights against in a struggle to live a sane life. We feel this fragile relationship wane between two distinct personalities wrestling to gain control detailed in the lyrics and reflected in the instrumentation.
The full Masked Facade album is set to release April 25th. Keep up with The Gary Dranow Band here!
