If truly aiming for a career as an artist, one must be willing to do what it takes. Often times that may mean moving to a place where there are more opportunities. Our recent find X.U.L. has done just that.
We had the chance to chat with the hard working artist to get a deeper look into his passion and dedication. Enjoy the interview:
First off, we have to ask, what does X.U.L. stand for?
X.U.L is to remind my son that he is always loved, his name is Xander so my name stands for (Xander. Ur. Loved).
How would you describe your sound?
I will say very chill, relatable, that trap chill with a hint of love vibes, like that trap soul style.
Which artists have had the biggest influence on you?
I listen to a lot of up and coming artist, but i will say Only One Felipe has had an influence on me as well as my friend, Jeff Stones. His passion and work ethic is crazy to me.
You took a big step coming to the US to pursue music. How have the opportunities increased?
Everything is a blessing, thats how i look at it, ever since i started making music, i feel like i found my passion, something i was destined for, Dee Wile gave me my first placement and i will be thankful for it.
What drives you to create original music?
The thing that drives me the most is what my aunt told me before she passed away, she knew i had an interest in music so she told me “Making music should always be fun, so enjoy it”
Tell us about your most recent album Unplugged.
UNPLUGGED is more of trap soul vibes, emotions going thru a roller coaster, starting with love and ending with heartbreak, things I went thru and people have gone thru as well.
Share some advice for other artists willing to take risks to achieve their dreams.
Go for it, you never know where your dreams can take you but you gotta be willing to take that first step, that first risk, everything in life is a lesson, make the most of it and push forward.
What is next in the story of X.U.L. ?
Keep making more amazing music, reach new people and let them know X.U.L. has that chill vibes for all year around, there is definitely more music thats gonna be on the way.
