Many artists use cover songs to get their voice out there into the ears of as many listeners as possible. To make an impact though you must not just reproduce what has already been done. A new artist has to make the song their own and own it. Our friend Jennifer Hope has done it again.
The alternative singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, California has made a name for herself with her ethereal and atmospheric soundscapes behind her silky smooth vocals. A couple of years ago we covered her X-Tremities EP which showed off all her talents. Flashback to http://indiebandguru.com/jennifer-hope-silky-vocals-and-interesting-songwriting-get-her-noticed/
Just last week Jennifer Hope released her cover version of the Evanescence classic “Bring Me To Life”. Taking on such an iconic song was no easy feat but Jennifer wanted to cover a song by a female artist, who like Hope, is more involved in the writing process and composes her own songs on the piano. This new version dives deep into a dark atmospheric background while staying true to the vocal delivery of the highly trained singer. There is a dark rock vibe that runs through the song that is different than the original but would fit in just as well. Have a listen for yourself at: http://www.jenniferhope.com/
The song is available on all the major channels such as iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play
