Wichita,Kansas alt-rock guitarist and award-winning songwriter, JJ McGuigan has been getting the attention of radio, his peers, and fans, with his latest EP, “Dissociative.” The collection contained the previous singles, “Letter” and “Home,” both having reached the Top 80 New Music Weekly airplay charts. The tracks also climbed into the Top 40 of the well-respected Roots Music Report Americana songs chart. Already a finalist in the VH1 Save the Music Songwriting contest, JJ’s insightful lyrics helped him earn an Akademia Award for Best Alternative Song in January 2017.
With his latest single and lyric video release, “In All Honesty,” McGuigan continues to catch the eyes and ears of listeners. The video received an award for Best Lyric Video at the 2018 LA Music Video Awards. The emotion-filled track, written with Garrett Crow features a distinctive vocal from Scott Spriggs. There is no denying the heart, soul, and grit that McGuigan delivers in each of his tracks.

Beginning as a drummer at age 13, McGuigan picked up the guitar and began writing songs at age 20. He attended Newman University and the famous recording school, Full Sail University. Songwriting has now become JJ’s main focus and passion, with an emphasis on writing lyrics. He has been interviewed on numerous radio shows, and his songs have been heard on hundreds of stations around the world. After a brief move to Austin, Texas, he has returned to his hometown of Wichita. He is currently working on a follow-up release for 2018.
