Andrew McCament is a Dallas-based singer/songwriter who has had an interest in music since he was a kid but recently started creating his own original music with lyrics voicing his personal experience. He started singing in choir and then A Capella groups in high school and college. Andrew then started playing guitar and started his YouTube channel where he posts covers of popular songs. He eventually decided to learn piano, which has greatly impacted his growth as a musician and kick-started him into writing his own songs.
Andrew’s new song “One More Night” is a song most can relate to. It talks about the internal turmoil one might have with making a mistaking and wanting to redeem themselves. It also touches on losing someone and not knowing how to repair the relationship. As the song moves on you can hear the sadness started to fade. It then turns into strength and acceptance over what happened.
“I was inspired by Drivers License by Olivia Rodrigo when I wrote this song, wanting to be very specific about moments in the relationship that stick with me and how it’s not always as simple as “it’s been x number of months, now I should be totally okay.” stated Andrew on his YouTube channel. “I end the song with some form of acceptance that these things I’m asking for would never happen, and the realization that they’re band aid fixes anyway and they aren’t the solution to true healing.”
Andrew anticipates on releasing his debut album in 2021 which will be filled with original pop/folk/indie songs that capture moments in his life that he believes others can relate to. He really emphasizes wanting to create music others can use as the soundtrack of their lives through writing about the human experience in a vibrant way.
