Once rock and roll gets its hooks in you, there is no turning back.  Time may pass by, but some dedicated musicians keep chugging along to live the rock and roll dream.  They write, they record, they learn along the way, and change with the times.  The key is to never quit and hold true to your guns of becoming a rock star.  One man that has been at it for a long while and is still discovering new music within himself goes by the new name Rooftop Screamer.

Roman got sucked in when he was only 8 years old and witnessed a skinny Mick Jagger-ish looking dude play a guitar through a full stack 500W amp at volume 11.  There was no turning back, a dream was born.  In his high school years of the early 80’s he formed his first band Last Exit.  His band’s names changed with the times, from Exitz to Managed Mayhem to Zone and they played all over the New York City area.  Along the way Roman had the opportunity to play with such musical heavyweights as David Ryan Harris (John Mayer Band), Jeffrey Foskett (Beach Boys/Brian Wison Band), Cliff Williams and Chris Slade (AC/DC), Dave Uosikkinen (The Hooters), Rami Jaffee (Wallflowers, FooFighters).

It has been a long road but now Roman has gone back to his roots and started a studio reunion project with his old high school band Exitz.  This is Rooftop Screamer, and the new name fits.  Indie Band Guru was able to get a listen to some of the early output and it looks like we are in for a wild ride.  The music has a classic feel but combines element of everything from AC/DC to Black Crowes to mid-90’s alt rock of bands like Oasis and Gin Blossoms.  The track ‘In My Dreams’ puts this all together while featuring strong and well produced vocals that are very catchy.  The song ‘Still My Girl’ grabbed my attention with a soft mellow verse of touching lyrics leading to a strong rock chorus to excite a crowded room of fans.  It looks like this reboot is bringing all the best of the past 3 decades worth of musical experience to one final product.  Keep an eye on the results at:
