Tornado Rose is one of those sort of oxymoron combinations of words that doesn’t quite make sense, but catches your attention anyway.
Being that this rather large Americana group from Kansas chose to combine a word that inflicts a sense of chaos and another that brings peaceful thoughts to mind, I’d say that there’s quite a bit in store for us here.
Tornado Rose — Rollicking and Sugary Sweet
Their new single “Good N Plenty” may share a name with a popular brand of candy, and the tone of the track is just about as sweet as its sugary counterpart. There’s a definite country vibe with this one, and it kind of reminds me of a mix between classic country and modern Lady Antebellum vibes. The beginning of the track seems to resemble an indie vibe, but as the vocals kick in, there’s a serious country vibe here.
Complete with a “woo-hoo” and upbeat fiddle playing, this one is a definite energy-booster. I don’t care what kind of music you’re into, listening to this will most certainly lift your spirits and make you want to dance. There’s a softness to the vocals that blends very nicely with the instrumentation, and you’ll need to have your cowboy boots on to get to tapping the floor less than a minute into the track.
Listening to this song really reminds me of Sweet Home Alabama (the movie, not the song) and it’s got a nice blend of modernized sounds with classic country aspects. Overall, there are not many artists out there that will nicely balance the blend that you’ll find going on in the new Tornado Rose track. It’s something you really have to experience for yourself, and most certainly something that you won’t regret listening to.
