“Love is a bitch…….I don’t give a fuck, but actually, I do.”
Truer words have rarely spoken. And these words were spoken by singer-songwriter Two Feet in “Love is a Bitch” and “Had Some Drinks” taken from Two Feet’s highly anticipated second EP, Momentum. Two Feet is New York-based singer / multi-instrumentalist who released his debut EP First Steps via Majestic Casual Records in the summer of 2016. Described as having a hazy and mellow sound that could be likened to contemporary artists like Chet Faker, Two Feet’s recent singles certainly live up to that reputation.
Two Feet nearly talks his way through the songs conveying a subtle, but strong and sultry effect.
Love is a bitch is true to form starting off with a thunderstorm then transitioning between and through Two Feet’s silky vocals, low-key beat, and impressive guitar. The song transitions beautifully between articulate whispers and bold, soulful beats.
The silky vocals, beat, and guitar all continue to be present in “Had Some Drinks” but it more clearly paints the image and feeling of Two Feet being right in the room with you clad in a leather jacket and pair of sunglasses whilst carelessly snapping his fingers away to the beat.
The fact that Two Feet is based in Harlem should come as no surprise because of his full-bodied sound that one can both emotionally connect to and be uplifted and invigorated by. After listening to a track or two, I surely feel ready to encounter the day and embrace any challenge. Or at least it boosts my self-confidence and makes me think I am cool enough to just get by.
