Music can often be the answer in times of overwhelm. Granted there are different styles of music for every mental feeling but I think I found a perfect soundtrack to quell my currently overworked mind. Enter the world of Bryyo with me and relax with the new album Presence.

The enigmatic indie outfit hailing from Austin, Texas, has unleashed their latest offering, Presence, on June 5th. It is a mesmerizing journey that solidifies their place in the ever-evolving indie dream-pop scene. The album builds on their atmospheric promise while diving deeper into lush soundscapes and dreamy rhythms the Bryyo is becoming known for. With Presence, they craft a sonic world that’s both ethereal and grounded, inviting listeners to lose themselves in its hypnotic layers.

From the opening track, fittingly titled “Intro,” Presence eases us in gently as the sounds rise to meet us. As “Banshee” comes in the energy is turned up with a steady beat punctuated by exotic flourishes to draw us deeper into Bryyo’s world.

Title track “Presence” offers a nostalgic sound while filling all the sonic space with ethereal dreamy vibes allowing our minds to escape the pressures of daily life. There are many sounds to follow here demanding multiple listens to absorb it all. Closing with distorted rock guitars let us know there are no set rules to their music. Just absolute freedom.

“Barbarian” is a big track as the title suggests. There is a pumped up speed to it that gets the blood moving. Again some alternative guitars come in to give us twists and turns. But not to let us settle in they turn delicate in an almost spanish guitar tone. But Bryyo doesn’t let us relax for long before turning the energy back up.

Production on Presence is a highlight. The mix strikes a balance between polished clarity and soaring EDM style beats, allowing each element its own space to breathe. And we never truly know where Bryyo will take us.

For fans of dreamy, introspective indie acts like Beach House or Slowdive, Presence is a must-listen. Bryyo has crafted an album that’s as much about feeling as it is about listening, offering a sonic escape that lingers long after the final note fades. With this release, they’ve not only lived up to their unique growing tones but have pushed their sound into bold, new territory. Here’s hoping they keep chasing that ethereal spark with more music soon.
