Indie rock band Colony House has released a new track this month, titled “Where I’m From” with an official music video to accompany it. The Nashville based group travelled to New Mexico to film this latest project, which they premiered in the advance of their album release on January 24th. Featuring thirteen tracks, Leave What’s Lost Behind will be their third studio album, and, if this single is any indication of what’s to come, we are in for a massive treat!
Everything about “Where I’m From” falls harmoniously into place as you will be swept into this deep and riveting song. The tempo is smoothe with instrumentals that define euphony. The lyrics are powerful enough to touch the souls of the listeners and the vocal harmonies and layovers will transport you to a beautiful dreamlike state. I felt like I was traveling through the memories of the story that Colony House is telling.
The video, directed by Caleb Chapman could not be more perfect for the song. Shiprock, New Mexico provides such a breathtaking backdrop for the band to perform in. I was so glad to see that there were very few props, because the nature surrounding them is beautiful on its own and it draws listeners in to the words being sung.
