Dejhare Speaks Up on ‘Plead The Fifth’

Dejhare

In what has been a very challenging year and a half we have needed music more than ever. The power of music is undeniable. It can be used as a healing agent as well as a unifier. Exactly what we need right now. Our recent find Dejhare believes in this wholeheartedly and recently released her new EP Plead The Fifth to further the cause.

The singer, songwriter, artist, and dreamer takes her musical gifts very seriously. For Dejhare (pronounced deɪ-Jhar) sharing emotions and life stories through music is the goal. Happiness as well as frustration. Her sound takes influence from multiple genres including pop, dance, world beat, and soft rock. Dejhare believes that music can unite us; music can heal us; and music can bring hope and a voice to us all.

On July 23rd Dejhare released a special EP she called Plead The Fifth. It addresses the complexities of navigating todays’ increasingly complex world from both an emotional, spiritual, and intellectual perspective.

‘Take Five’ With Dejhare

The record opens with the energetic dance track “Take Five.” A big steady beat keeps the song moving as the ethereal vocals of Dejhare provide a calming effect. Memories of crowded dance floors comes to mind as sounds come from multiple angles to get us moving. The energy intensifies on “Skeletons” as the beat picks up and gets more exotic. It is a callout for people to take responsibility for their actions.

On “Perception” Dejhare slows down the pace but turns up the emotion. We are in a new world. It is time to focus on what really matters. She makes sure we feel her words. This continues on “Not Alone” with a message to be true to yourself. The vocals here have a smooth echo feel reminiscent of classic Madonna. The synth sound propels the dance movement in our bodies as our minds focus on the message.

On the closing title track “Plead The Fifth” we get an updated electro beat that blends the best sounds together for something unique. The feeling of the track is one of hope for the collective future. Perfect ending to a fun listen.
