Disconnected Genius genius rock album Nirvikalpa Meow due out later this year

Disconnected Genius Album 2

If you were a fan of late 90s and early 2000s rock, Disconnected Genius is for you.

With the upcoming release of their second studio album, Nirvikalpa Meow (don’t ask me how to pronounce this one), Disconnected Genius is showing listeners how to make rock great again. Nirvikalpa Meow is the follow up to their debut album Dogs Chasing Fairy Tales.

Disconnected Genius are truly making rock great again with Nirvikalpa Meow.

The 11 track album opens with a 5 minute power ballad, “About Nothing.” The acoustic guitar laden track, features a powerful question, “What do you do if you don’t give a fuck about nothing?” This track has everything that each memorable Matchbox 20 song has- acoustic guitar, edgy questions and a powerful, angst filled chorus- but it’s what 2017 is lacking.

“Vertruvian Men” is an eight minute and 42 second track that is worth a listen to. It has a sound that would be in a early 2000s teen rom-com, you know exactly what I’m talking about. That scene where the teens figure out they’re madly in love with each other and there’s a heavy make out session. That’s where “Vertuvian Men” fits in. It has a sentimental feel that brings you back to wherever your first kiss was or senior prom.

It wouldn’t be a great rock album with out a track that makes you want to jump around. Disconnected Genius bring it with “Quietly Into the Night.”  The quick paced, power chord driven track is perfect for jumping around or rocking out in your car.

“We really have put our heart and soul into this record and feel blessed when our music resonates with people.”

Disconnected Genius is an electric three piece from Melbourne, Australia. With Jamie O’Keefe on vocals, guitar and piano; Yuri Pavlinow rocking on on Bass and BV’s; and Daniel Farrugia holding it down on Drums and other percussion, the group has clearly found their groove.

Be sure to watch out for Nirvikalpa Meow later this year. And follow the group on Facebook and Twitter.
