Gina Royale Can Be Your “Lemon Drop”

A relationship is much like a lemon in some ways. It can be really sweet, or it can be really sour. That is the general theme of New Jersey singer-songwriter Gina Royale’s newest single “Lemon Drop.”

Gina Royale is an alt-pop artist based in New Jersey. She is a graduate of the College of the Arts and Communication at William Paterson University of New Jersey, where she studied Popular Music Performance. Gina has performed across the country in festivals, tours, radio/TV interviews, and more. She has released 2 EPs, several singles, and 1 full length LP. Her full length LP Yellow (released in March 2019), is probably one of my favorite albums ever.

Last December she released one of her biggest songs “Mr. Lennon” on the anniversary of John Lennon’s death. The song is a letter to Lennon letting him know what the world has recently come to and how mad he would be to see what has been happening. “Mr. Lennon” received national airplay and was added to dozens of Spotify Playlists.

Her newest song “Lemon Drop” is sure to be just as much of a hit as “Mr. Lennon”. “Lemon Drop” dives into the sweet and sourness of a relationship. Gina Royale noted that “Someone can make your day or ruin your life. Lemon Drop highlights the sweet and sour parts of love. People can be super manipulative and two faced, hot and cold, etc. Lemon Drop highlights all of those aspects.”

The thing that I love the most about Gina Royale is her true gift for songwriting. She has a way with words that is just so real and raw. She can take almost any topic and transform it into a powerful song, not to mention that her vocal range is extremely powerful and very impressive.

There is a true uniqueness to her sound that draws listeners in and instantly captivates them. Whenever I put on her music I am immediately drawn to her high energy and just want to sing every lyric at the top of my lungs, and I do!

Keep Up With Gina Royale
