There will always be something special about being in a club with a DJ that is able to connect with the crowd and provide the music to get them engaged and enjoying the scene. A crowd that is feeling the same energy as the DJ will always make for a great time. Our new discovery DJ Jon Guetano has made a habit of this and is building great experiences wherever he performs.
We caught up with the rising star DJ to get a little deeper into how he is able to do this. Enjoy the interview here:
First off, in a world of wild DJ monikers, why did you decide to stick with Jon Guetano as your DJ name?
I chose to stick with Jon Guetano because it feels authentic—real name, real music, no gimmicks. In a world full of flashy aliases, staying true to myself stands out more.
How would you describe your sound?
My sound blends deep basslines and hypnotic tech house rhythms with uplifting melodies that energize dance floors
Which artists have had the biggest influence on you?
Would have to say Crusy and Danny Howard have been huge influences on my latest releases.
What is it that inspires you to create music?
I’m inspired by the energy and connection I feel with live audiences. I create music to evoke emotion, movement, and unity on the dance floor. My tracks aim to uplift listeners and transform moments into unforgettable experiences.
How does a song come together for you? What is your songwriting process?
For me, a song usually starts with a vibe or a groove that catches my attention. From there, I build layers—basslines, melodies, percussion—while constantly tweaking to make sure everything flows and connects emotionally. It’s a mix of inspiration and careful crafting until the track feels complete.
What can you tell us about your latest single “Touch Your Body”?
“Touch Your Body” is my latest single, and it’s all about creating an irresistible groove that gets people moving. With deep basslines and hypnotic rhythms, I wanted to make a track that connects emotionally and energizes the dance floor—something fans can really feel and enjoy.
What do you hope listeners take away from a Jon Guetano song?
I hope listeners feel a genuine connection through my music—something that moves them both physically and emotionally. Whether it’s dancing at a party or just vibing alone, I want my songs to create moments of joy, energy, and unity.
Aside from being a DJ at live events we understand you do some producing. How does your mindset differ from the live setting to a closed studio?
When I’m DJing live, it’s all about reading the crowd and feeding off their energy in the moment—being spontaneous and reactive. In the studio, it’s a more focused and introspective process where I can experiment, refine sounds, and craft the story I want to tell without any immediate feedback.
You have been doing it for quite a while, share some advice for other DJs trying to get recognized for their art.
Stay true to your unique sound and keep honing your craft—consistency is key. Network genuinely, be patient, and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there, whether it’s through social media, collaborations, or playing small gigs. Success comes with persistence and passion.
What does the future hold for Jon Guetano?
Lots more releases coming in the second half of the year. I’m also in the early stages of planning a tour hopefully towards the end of the year .
