The official music video for “Sideways Apocalypse” adds another layer to that unease. It follows Foster as he moves through everyday life while the world around him quietly glitches. Ordinary settings warp and stutter, mirroring the song’s central idea that disaster doesn’t always need to look dramatic to feel real. It’s a fitting visual complement, one that leans into the same understated tension the song builds musically.
Musically, the song moves at an unhurried pace, built around a melody that feels dreamy without ever losing its footing. That slower tempo gives the track a warm, almost sunlit quality, even while the lyrics circle something more unsettled underneath. Foster’s vocal delivery matches that pace, relaxed and conversational instead of urgent, which only deepens the song’s strange, soothing calm.
It’s a difficult balance to strike, and Kenny Foster makes it look easy. “Sideways Apocalypse” never tips into gloom, and it never oversells its hope either. It lands instead in a strange, comforting middle ground that feels uniquely comforting.
