Markoff – Lazzara Return with a pair of singles

Markoff - Lazzara

There is nothing better than beautiful musical collaborations continuing. We see many a pairing that fade off into oblivion after one successful record. Our friends Steve Markoff and Patricia Lazzara are back with a couple more songs to continue their musical relationship.

The New Jersey-based flute duo whose relationship started as student and teacher and has grown into colleagues and collaborating partners. Indie Band Guru covered their last full length album Timeless. That 18 track masterstroke covered popular hits of the last 60 years in the Markoff – Lazzara style. A style of acoustical instrumentation with the flute as the lead. That record caught some attention even landing spots on the World Indie Music Charts, Euro Indie Music charts, and DRT Charts.

The duo is keeping busy in these times. In early 2020, Markoff – Lazzara released “Llama”. Grammy-nominated pianist Allison Brewster Franzetti was brought in once again to add to the sound. The beautiful and relaxing tone of the song sets the mind and body at ease as the flute lifts spirits to new heights.

With the current state of the world needing some new music to cope with the stress, the trio of Markoff – Lazzara and Brewster Franzetti come to the rescue again with “If I Could Reach Your Heart”. Due to social distancing in place, the group took to the internet, recorded on iPhones, and released the result to the world. It is a pretty piece that builds with each instrument taking its own time to mesh together perfectly. Perfect music at the perfect time. They will be recording an official studio version later this year as part of the upcoming album Romances in Blue.
