One of the most amazing parts of being an artist is the freedom to become another identity in your music. You can separate your everyday lifestyle from the artist avatar you put out to the world. This satisfies the chaos that is constantly going on in many artists’ minds. Our funny friend The Kev is a great example of this.
By day Kevin McGeary is a mild mannered educator and writer who specializes in the Mandarin language. In his other life, he is The Kev, a singer/songwriter and comedian that has decided to beat the bland out of the British and Irish music scene. The satire, cynicism, and outright silliness has been the mission of his music and live performances. He has found something that he truly enjoys and it seems that the growing audiences are quite enjoying it as well.
With a new album due out in April of 2025, The Kev has leaked out some music for us to wet our whistles. To truly get a taste of his musical stylings, we recommend “The FVDSA.”
A soothing classical sound soon turns deep with The Kev delivering his unequivocal sound. We are drawn into the story as he tells it. The emotional delivery puts us in a place to take in some meaningful information but The KEV has something different in mind. His dark humor has the shock value to stand you straight up even with the mellow musical background.
With the album You Can’t Say Anything These Days coming soon let’s all prepare our minds for the satirical smirk The Kev will have for us. We expect thought provoking tracks that have that cringe effect that we will find ourselves laughing awkwardly at. A needed change of pace in the often bland music scene.
