Anna Shoemaker is a NY-based, Philly-born, singer-songwriter. The alt-pop artist came to public attention with her viral mashup of Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch Don’t’ Kill My Vibe” and Chance the Rapper’s “Cocoa Butter Kisses,” which were all recorded on her bedroom floor. The song now has over 800k streams and caught the attention of tastemaker and fashion mogul Steve Madden. She was chosen as Steve Madden’s 2018 Emerging Artist of the Year and soon after, signed to 5towns Records. Shoemaker’s debut EP, East Side, produced by Grammy-nominated producer JT Daly, gained her a spot on Facebook’s Artist of the Day and got her featured on Alt Nation’s (SirusXM) Advanced Placement as well as praise from Billboard and numerous other press outlets.
Shoemaker is following up on the success of her debut EP with her latest single, “If You’re Going (I’ll Go).” The track starts off to some sparse guitar riffs that reverberate throughout the song. Next, the bouncy sounds of the electronic beats and synths buoy this track. The execution is thrilling. Shoemaker’s vocals are soulful and filled with attitude and flair. Infectious and contagious electro vibes are mixed in with reverb-filed guitar riffs.
On this unique single, Shoemaker mixes in organic instrumentation with electronic embellishments. Here, the electric guitar is accompanied by an electro backbeat. This creates a fuller and more boisterous sound.
This is an addicting electronic pop track. With many a catchy and melodic hook, this single will invigorate listeners.
Be sure to look out for more material from Shoemaker in the incoming year. Stay tuned!
