There is many stereotypes in the hip hop music scene. Many rappers are assumed to be straight off the streets with not much else going for them besides the ability to rhyme and flow with a beat. These talents have taken many young rappers to amazing heights. Our latest find BookT is quite the opposite of these stereotypes and has the skills to make a big statement in the music world.
Hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina, the artist found his passion for hip hop while studying for a degree in Broadcasting at UNC-Pembroke. Writing lyrics and producing beats gave BookT the chance to express his views of the world and the future he hopes to live in. He dove in with all his efforts and learned the skills to become not only an artist and producer but also a manager and publisher as well. People were seeing the knowledge that BookT was gaining and started giving him the moniker “Mr. Highly Educated”. He ran with that and formed the label Highly Educated Management and Production. WIth the company, he aims to bring a breath of fresh air to entertainment and music. No more bullying and thuggish mentality, instead the plan is to help establish an entity that is more laid back, charismatic, educated and socially aware.
The latest track by BookT is “Hot Sex Smoke & Weed”. The spacey and exotic start lets you know right off the bat that you are in for something a little different here. The beat creeps along creating a mellow feel. The lyrical flow that BookT delivers is amazing. The words seem to flow very organically welcoming in the listener to draw his own conclusions.
