There is a beauty to finding new sounds in a world where the mainstream keeps pushing music that is getting further and further away from “real” music. The openness of the music world (and the internet) has allowed amazing new sounds and genres to reach their audience. One such artist is our recent discovery Edgar Allan Poets.
The band based in Los Angeles, California is made up of Chris Mariotti (guitar and vocals) and The Shadow (drums and keys). Together as Edgar Allan Poets, they produce Noir Rock sound that is dark, intense, and thought-provoking. It is a mix of grunge guitars, classical strings, and lyrics that evoke tales shrouded in shadow and mystery. It is not just a clever name. The band is truly inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe.
Premiere of lyric video for ‘White Noise’ by Edgar Allan Poets
Today sees the premiere of the latest single from Edgar Allan Poets titled “White Noise.” The dark swell of the opening puts the lister right in the frame of mind the band wants them in. The vocals of Mariotti further this tone with a dark and stoic style. The band describes the meaning of the song as “life goes on and you have to find a way to deal with it trying not to pay attention to all the useless noise that surrounds you but only to the important things that are worth living for.” In this song they found hope and they hope you will find it too.
“White Noise” builds to a crescendo of sound that encapsulates the full reach of the speakers. Enjoy the dark yet warm embrace. It has been quite an interesting year for all of us and Edgar Allan Poets are here to share in that pain and offer a ray of hope for survival.
Keep up with the journey on their WEBSITE.
