First off, what is behind the name KIIN9 Perez?
The name KIIN9 Perez represents much more than just a stage name to me — it represents evolution, resilience, elevation, survival, faith, leadership, creativity, and transformation. Over time, the name became connected to my entire life journey and the movement I’m building around music, branding, entrepreneurship, media, and independent creativity. The “KIIN9” portion of the name symbolizes royalty, elevation, power, completion, and growth through struggle. The number 9 symbolizes completion of cycles, wisdom gained through experience, and stepping into higher levels mentally, spiritually, and creatively. Perez reflects my identity and roots while KIIN9 became the larger creative identity tied to my artistry and vision. I also created SupaStarKnova as the inspirational and faith-based division of my artistry. SupaStarKnova represents healing, redemption, perseverance, testimony, faith, growth, spiritual transformation, and overcoming difficult seasons in life through God. How would you describe your sound?
My sound is versatile, emotional, cinematic, international, and constantly evolving. I blend Hip-Hop, Drill, Afrobeat, Reggaeton, Dancehall, Gospel, melodic storytelling, emotional records, motivational music, and international influences into one overall creative universe. Some records carry gritty NYC energy while others focus on healing, faith, motivation, emotional vulnerability, relationships, ambition, nightlife, or cultural celebration. As KIIN9 Perez, my music explores multiple lanes creatively while SupaStarKnova focuses on spiritually focused and inspirational music. I approach music visually and emotionally because I want listeners to feel something before fully processing the lyrics. Long-term, I want my catalog to feel timeless, versatile, emotionally impactful, and globally connected while staying rooted in authenticity and creativity.
Which artists have had the biggest influence on you?
I’ve been inspired by artists who built their own lanes and created emotional impact. Tupac inspired me through storytelling and authenticity. DMX influenced me through raw emotion, spirituality, and intensity. 50 Cent influenced me entrepreneurially through branding and business mentality. Lil Wayne inspired versatility and experimentation. Artists like Burna Boy and Vybz Kartel influenced the international side of my artistry through rhythm, culture, and worldwide musical influence. Gospel and Christian artists also shaped the SupaStarKnova division because I realized music could heal and inspire people spiritually. My influences taught me that artistry is about emotional impact, cultural connection, authenticity, and building something timeless.
How does a song, or creative output in general, come to you? What is your artistic process?
My creative process usually begins with emotion, atmosphere, vision, or energy. Sometimes a beat instantly gives me a cinematic vision while other times inspiration comes from conversations, environments, pain, ambition, relationships, spirituality, memories, or real-life experiences. I never want the creative process to feel forced because authenticity matters to me. When creating as KIIN9 Perez, I focus heavily on emotional connection and atmosphere. As SupaStarKnova, the process becomes more spiritual and reflective because many records come from prayer, healing, faith, and testimony. I also think visually while creating and naturally imagine scenes, visuals, podcast discussions, branding campaigns, and cinematic concepts connected to the music.
What do you hope that listeners take away from your music?
I want listeners to feel understood, inspired, motivated, emotionally connected, and spiritually encouraged through my music. Whether someone is dealing with pain, ambition, healing, trauma, confidence issues, depression, survival, relationships, or growth, I want the music to feel authentic and relatable. As KIIN9 Perez, I want listeners to feel motivated and empowered. As SupaStarKnova, I want listeners to experience healing, faith, hope, perseverance, and spiritual encouragement. I also want independent creatives and entrepreneurs to understand the importance of ownership, branding, discipline, and believing in your own vision regardless of limitations or setbacks.
We hear that KIIN9 Perez also launched a clothing line to expand the brand. Tell us about that.
Fashion and lifestyle branding were always part of the long-term vision because music, visuals, branding, and culture naturally connect together. Royale Lineage Apparel and the broader KIIN9 Royalty Brand represent confidence, elevation, culture, creativity, individuality, luxury-inspired aesthetics, and self-expression. The fashion side blends urban culture, luxury influence, motivational branding, cinematic visuals, and creative individuality into one lifestyle concept. I want the clothing line to reflect the same energy found in my music — ambition, resilience, independence, authenticity, and creativity.
Share some advice for other creatives that want to share their vision with the world.
My biggest advice is to stop waiting for perfect timing or validation before creating. Consistency, discipline, patience, authenticity, and self-belief matter more than perfection. Learn the business side of your creativity including branding, SEO visibility, networking, marketing, and audience engagement. Protect your mental health and spiritual growth too. Build your own lane instead of constantly trying to fit into someone else’s. Creativity is bigger than entertainment — it’s about impact, healing, inspiration, growth, and legacy.
What does the future hold for KIIN9 Perez?
The future holds expansion on every level — musically, spiritually, entrepreneurially, visually, internationally, and creatively. I plan to continue growing both KIIN9 Perez and SupaStarKnova globally through music releases, podcasting, interviews, branding, visual storytelling, social media expansion, fashion, entrepreneurship, and multimedia content. Long-term, I see the movement expanding far beyond music into film, fashion, podcasting, entrepreneurship, motivational speaking, media, and larger creative collaborations. Most importantly, I want the movement to leave behind a legacy built on authenticity, resilience, creativity, faith, ownership, inspiration, and impact.
