In many households music is always around. Even the youngest ears are influenced and drawn to it. Once the music bug gets inside the heart of a child it can lead to a lifetime of musical passion. It seems that was where it all started for our recent discovery Jah Gordy.
As he puts it, Jah Gordy began studying musical theory before he could even recite the alphabet. Both his parents were enthralled with music and art. The sounds of Funk, R&B, Soul, and Reggae permeated through the walls of the home and deep into Jah’s mind.
During his High School years, Jah Gordy took interest in keyboard and alto sax. He became a key player in the school’s marching band. In college, he had the opportunity to DJ on the local college radio station. This inspired Jah Gordy even more and his quest to engineer and produce his own music began.
Jah Gordy Brings A New Sultry Sound To Light
Now 10 years later, with knowledge and experience in hand, Gordy has developed his own unique style that he dubs ‘Ambient Funk’. In preparation for his latest album the In My Space EP, he has released the single “Ladies Night” with the help of British Pop sensation Junior Giscombe.
The song is a dynamic mix of ambient chill and real energy. This sounds impossible but take a listen and you will hear it for yourself. The sultry keyboard sounds set the tone while the beat provides a toe tapping vibe. The vocals draw the listener into the sexy night that the duo is ready to have in the club. This is how music is supposed to make you feel.
