With the Christmas season already deep in its annual visit, many of us are getting a little tired of the same old holiday songs streaming through our speakers. Luckily our ears are always open for a fresh crop of new songs to brighten the season. We recently came across the music of Rändi Fay and her brand new single “Grown-Up Christmas List”.
The Green Bay, Wisconsin based singer and songwriter got her start in music later than many of us. Rändi Fay had a career in veterinary medicine before a hand injury forced her to leave the field in 2001. Her mission for healing never waned though. She found her new outlet in music. Rändi uses her new talents to inspire listeners spreading the simple but often forgotten message of ‘being kind to others.’
Rändi’ Fay’s innovative approach to music can be attributed to a combination of early influences from jazz standards, pop & rock classics, music theater, camp songs, to classical masterpieces. She describes her own unique sound as ‘symphonic electronica.’
Now Rändi Fay has brought us her innovative version of the holiday classic “Grown-Up Christmas List”. The original song was written by David Foster and has been sung by such amazing voices as Natalie Cole, Amy Grant, and Kelly Clarkson. The song seems to have been revived again with the symphonic electronica treatment.
The vocals soar in an embracing way providing a warmth to the track that is cozier than the yule log in the fireplace. The backdrop instrumentation keeps it relaxing as well. This is the perfect song to take those final sips of Christmas coffee with after the kids have been snugly tucked into bed for the impending craziness of Christmas morning.
Enjoy this one and keep up with more music from Rändi Fay on her WEBSITE.
