Bob Russell Takes Us To ‘Bourbon Street’

Bob Russell

There is never ending power in music. People that are willing to pour their time and talent into it will always find a way. Life may sometimes not let us get to our musical dreams until later, but if we want it music will wait for us. Our recent discovery Bob Russell may not be a young buck but his musical passion seems to have made it worth the wait.

The singer-songwriter and guitarist was a huge fan of the big rock bands of the 60’s and 70’s as a younger man. That love for the classic rock sound has never dwindled and now Bob Russell pours that influence into his own Classic Rock sound with a taste of the Blues. These years spent sitting on the sidelines are over and he is now ready to share his music with the world.

Last month Bob Russell released his 4-song EP Heaven Can Wait. It acts as a rally cry to those that say he is past his chance to make a go of an indie music career. Consider it his Renaissance, with no sign of slowing down.

The single “Bourbon Street” jumps out as a stand out track that deserves some attention. The bluesy drawl crawls along pulling the listener closer with each note. Emotion is very evident in the way Bob Russell delivers his vocals. Raw and energetic with that unbridled passion. The song is written from the experience of yearning to take a trip to New Orleans with his wife. The song and the trip later came true. Another sign that there is no stopping the drive of this man.
