Exclusive Premier: TIOGA ‘Don’t Ask Me To Dance’

TIOGA

If you’re obsessed with the sounds of The 1975, The Killers, and Two Door Cinema Club, you have to check out TIOGA. Their latest single, “Don’t Ask Me To Dance,” bridges together their musical influences with their unique brand of indie rock.

TIOGA are breathing a fresh life into indie rock with ‘Don’t Ask Me To Dance’

“Don’t Ask Me To Dance” combines refreshing rhythms and memorable melodies in a sound that is reminiscent of early 2000s new wave revival. In the same way The Killer’s “Mr. Brightside” and Walk The Moon’s “Shut Up And Dance” bridge together incredibly modern melodies with a vintage feel, TIOGA are refreshing the genre in the same way.

The instrumental opening draws you in, wondering what’s to come. Quietly building for the first 30 seconds, it puts you in a trance not knowing what the song is going to bring. The soft guitar riff slowly builds, with chords played on a synth layered over, reminiscent of The 1975’s latest album sound.

As the second single from their upcoming album, “Don’t Ask Me To Dance” shows listeners what the band is all about. Their budding basslines and catchy riffs played brightly on guitar captive every listener. The massive builds and their spin on indie rock come together just like the members of TIOGA.

Used to describe the place between two points, TIOGA is the middle ground to what each member brings to the table. Coming from different towns, different musical backgrounds, and different lifestyles, their common ground is the music they make, and it benefits for their differences.

TIOGA is made up of Greg Adams (vocals/guitar), Derrick Dieso (guitar), Austin Paragas (bass/vocals), and Henri Tyler (drums). Coming together out of West Philly, these four are ready to take on the music world wither their indie rock flare.
