TASHA ROBERTSON TELLS US ‘THE DUST WILL SETTLE’

Tasha Robertson has recently released her impressive EP Sweet Hearts. It showcased an artist who uses her gentle acoustic folk sound to share tales about love, loss, hope and acceptance. What makes this collection of songs stand out? It is her stunning vocal presence. It has a unique tone which is beautiful to listen to but also has a captivating upbeat feel to it.

 

Well, there are no plans to lose any momentum as she releases her new single “The Dust Will Settle”. Recorded in The Boathouse Studio in Suffolk, it features a live rhythm section. Robertson has described this song as being “about willing someone to choose to move forward and to leave the past behind. A plea to the listener to choose to lay past demons to rest in order to make room for brighter days.”

 

The songs live feel is a nice touch and gives it a grounded feel. The band have more of a supporting role as Robertson’s guitar takes the centre stage. But they come together to create a warm folk sound that is so easy on the ears, and its good.

But, it is Robertson’s vocals that continue to shine and impress. It feels effortless from start to finish and is used to share the songs upbeat message. Especially as she delivers the outro lines “I pray the dust will settle / I pray the dust will settle / I pray the words they threw like stones will someday blow away / Leaving room for a beautiful day”. Its final line is like a shining light of positivity.

 

“The Dust Will Settle” is yet another impressive showing of Tasha Robertson talents. There is more to come as this track is taken from her upcoming EP. There are rumours that this collection of songs may have a hint of country/Americana in them. With the talent and vocal style this songstress possesses, it will be a release that will capture a lot of people’s attention.
